Back in February 2018, Korean gaming giant Kakao Games announced it will be publishing a new mobile MMORPG based on the TERA IP. It will be developed by Lantu Games, a subsidiary of Chinese games company Longtu Korea and Korean messaging juggernaut LINE. Today, Kakao Games revealed that the game will now be officially known as TERA Classic, with a launch in South Korea scheduled for the first half of this year. TERA Classic will introduce a new story based on on the original world view, along with massive open fields. Content based on solo and multiplayer gameplay are also considered during development. There is no news if TERA Classic will be launching in overseas territories.
