Following the examples of fellow South Korean game companies such as Nexon and Netmarble (along with considerable government pressure), NHN Entertainment today announced its own flexible working scheme as well for its employees. Basically, employees must be available during the core working hours from 11:00 AM to 4:00 PM on weekdays. They can then shift the rest of the minimum work hours across different days of the week.
Also similar is the prohibition of working late night hours or during weekends, unless specially approved by management. This is the same for public holidays. NHN also intends to introduce new morning healthy programs which will be counted as working hours. The internet giant pledged to further improve employees’ well-being with more benefits, health activities, and cutting down on “unnecessary” work hours. Which company will be next?
