Teased by SEGA a few days ago, new details for the upcoming mobile game, D×2 Shin Megami Tensei Liberation, were revealed yesterday. One of the flagship titles to be shown at Tokyo Game Show next week, game systems include “Demon Negotiation” which players can persuade a demon to join him or her; “Demon Fusion” which allows 2 demons to combine and form a new one.
For combat, there is “Pressing Turn-based Battle”, where players get to execute more actions after hitting an opponent’s weak points. The storyline for D×2 Shin Megami Tensei Liberation is written by Makoto Fukami (PSYCHO-PASS anime), and the characters are designed by Tatsuro Iwamoto (Ace Attorney series). SEGA will also have a VR demo version of the game at Tokyo Game Show.
More gameplay details, such as the maze known as Aura’s Gate, will also be announced at Tokyo Game Show next week. An interesting fact, D×2 Shin Megami Tensei Liberation is developed with the help of Atlus, the original developer and creator. The idea of the game is to focus on the demons materializing in the actual human world, hence the high quality 3D models utilized for the demons.
Players, or Devil Downloaders (D×2), come under the flag of Liberators, while the opposing team is known as Acolytes. Armed with the gift of fighting alongside demons, Liberators protect the world while Acolytes eliminate all who tries to stop them in their mysterious objectives. Developed for Android and iOS devices, there is no launch schedule for D×2 Shin Megami Tensei Liberation.
