Brad McQuaid may not be a familiar name, but he has worked on games such as EverQuest for many years. He is now head of his own studio, Visionary Realms, and working on a new MMORPG called Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen. The game’s Kickstarter campaign started just a day before.
Basically, Pantheon is “a heavy focus on character development, an immersive world, and teamwork”, an open and non-linear world where players “explore to obtain not only more powerful items but also new spells and abilities.” Classes can be identified “by bonding with the spirits of fallen warriors.”
For combat, the word “reactive” is used, where players “can determine what the NPC is doing and react to it. (move, counter, deflect, etc.) .” Pantheon: Rise of the Fallen is currently scheduled only to launch sometime in the year 2017, a good 3 years from now.
