After reading my previous posts on The Magic Sword Online, folks were saying how the game will be “complete” with Age of Wushu’s tons of features together with its more “actiony” combat. Here are some brief descriptions of the features found in beginning introductory mode, with more to be revealed in due time.
Skill chaining – Pretty much a familiar sight these days, connecting different skills together will create a chain, dealing even more damage when compared to use as a one-shot. Timing and accuracy is everything though.
Fatal leech skill – Each of the different clans will have skill/s (number not confirmed) related to this system. When an enemy is in critical bleeding mode, this skills can be used to finished him off and at the same time leech some health points of the target. The animation is said to be awesome, though I have not seen it myself.
Weather system – Rain, thunderstorm, sandstorm, blizzard etc will all be in the game. I am not really sure if all these are “live” in the open world, since the description says that players can experience different weather systems via activating different quests. Really a big thumbs down if these changes are instanced…
Mental gauge – Something similar to a stamina bar, this will be consumed when using moves such as block to reduce damage. Once worn down, players will receive more damage and can be knocked back or knocked down. It is important to monitor opponent’s stamina gauge, especially during PvP.
Dodging – Apparently there is no simple “double tap” on a direction key to dodge. Players will need to press the directional button and also activate the dodge skill at the same time. Different clans will have different dodge skills.
