On 8th July, the Korean government (Ministry of Culture to be exact) launched a new project, titled “Global Project”. What is the project for? It is to choose one certain product or work to be promoted overseas as Korea’s cultural representative, mainly in China and North America. While TERA is still just one of the many nominees, others nominees range from TV dramas, animes, movies and of course, games. What will the winner be getting?
The carrot here will be a sum of 5 billion Korean Won, which will be sponsored by the government. Early analysts say that this project will reap in a sum of 1.5 trillion Korean Won within a period of 5 years. TERA currently is already one of the most expensive games to be developed and also one of the most anticipated MMORPGs, if they win this sponsorship, only more good things can happen as Bluehole Studios aim to conquer the global market.
