According to foreign reports, Luna Online’s developer, Eyasoft, is currently under police investigation. The charge? Real items were included in the game’s version of gashapon, the Lucky Boxes, where players will randomly obtain an item after opening it in the game. Items offered in the special event included Xbox 360, Nintendo Wii and other electronic gadgets. According to Korean law, this action mimics that of actual gambling (due to addition of real items), and Eyasoft did not apply for a permit to do such an event with the relevant authorities. According to a governing body of gaming in Korea, Eyasoft was actually warned before for holding a similar event, but since the company turned a deaf ear to the warnings, action had to be taken. The event has since been ended prematurely on 11th June.
