Netmarble Nexus, the development team in-charge of the Seven Knights franchise, today announced The Seven Knights, an Unreal Engine 5 remake of the original mobile RPG. This follows the recent closure announcement for the original Seven Knights game. Netmarble Nexus apologized for update delays to the original game, stating that after reviewing internally they confirmed that it would be tough to resolve various issues properly. While not stated, this might be due to the game’s old engine and outdated programming. Hence, the pivot to The Seven Knights using Unreal Engine 5.
The Seven Knights is both a successor and remake of the original Seven Knights game, with Netmarble Nexus promising it would inherit and further develop the strengths of Seven Knights. The project director of The Seven Knights would not be the same as the one from Seven Knights Revolution. According to Netmarble Nexus, the aim is to have a Closed Beta in 2024, during the 10th anniversary year of Seven Knights. Stay tuned for more updates!
