Aether Gazer (深空之眼) is a new mobile action RPG which has gone through a few Closed Beta tests in China now. For more context, this is the latest game from China-based developer Yongshi, also the team behind the widely popular Azur Lane. To simply summarize, players form teams of 3 characters to take part in real-time action combat, with no auto-combat available during our short test time. The anime-style characters, mostly females, are definitely top-notch and an improvement from Azur Lane.
You would think that having 2 AI-controlled characters in a team means the ability to switch between them mid-battle, but that is not the case in Aether Gazer. Instead, players can only activate their ultimate skills when their combat meter is full. That is quite a bummer for us, and the only real negative we experienced. There are also special bond skills when certain characters are in the same active team.
We have no doubt that Aether Gazer, like Punishing: Gray Raven, will soon see a global launch in the near future. Stay tuned!
