While Korean games developer Wemade Entertainment is busy building its WEMIX blockchain gaming platform (under Wemade Tree), another team is busy toying with the latest Unreal Engine 5. Earlier today, Wemade XR revealed a technical demo for its upcoming MMORPG, Legend of YMIR, powered by Unreal Engine 5. Essentially, tech demos show what can be achieved at maximum capacity, but most of it has to be scaled down for normal public use.
Wemade is famous most recently for MIR4, and Legend of YMIR can be seen as a Nordic interpterion of the game, with familiar godly figures such as Thor, Loki, and Odin (which is also similar to ODIN: Valhalla Rising and Ragnarok Online). Players can expect massive PVP wars in Legend of YMIR, which is scheduled to launch globally (subject to regulatory requirements) on both PC and mobile at the same time. And yes, Wemade’s blockchain system will be part of the game.
