It was revealed recently that NCsoft has filed an application with the authorities to start a new company known as “NC”, which led to media speculations that the company is now preparing to switch over to the new name. While NCsoft started their main business by creating software, it has now diverged into many sectors. Hence, dropping off “soft” which refers to software seems like a logical choice. The change to “NC” is expected to complete before September 2021. The recent new logo also removed “soft” from the design. Companies such as Netmarble (originally Netmarble Games) and Wemade (originally Wemade Entertainment) have previously renamed to reflect their extended businesses.
