It is the time of the year when the publicly-listed companies report their financials for the 2nd quarter (April to June), and Netmarble has just released theirs. The biggest item which we noticed is the drop in operating profits, which is a massive decrease of -46.6% when compared with the same period in 2018, while just a minor -2.1% dip when compared to the 1st quarter this year. Netmarble has attributed this to increased marketing costs for new titles, and the gains will be seen in the 3rd quarter report. Here is a look at other info:
Netmarble has also prepared a presentation slide relating to upcoming titles, and it seems that the global community will be getting The King of Fighters Allstar soon, though there is still no sign of a pre-registration phase. While Seven Knights 2 is penciled in for a Korean launch this year, I would bet against that and see a 2020 launch to be more possible. There is still the post-presentation financial call to look forward to (where the investment banks ask tons of questions), and we will have a new article for that is anything new comes out.
