Netmarble, developer and publisher of games such as Lineage II: Revolution, Seven Knights and the recently launched Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery, recently announced its financial report for the 1st quarter of 2018 (January to March). During the Q&A session, Netmarble confirmed that partner Wemade has sent them a letter to cancel the publishing contract for Icarus Mobile, an upcoming mobile MMORPG powered by Unreal Engine 4.
Netmarble explained that its internal team was in the process of QA for Icarus Mobile to make sure the massive game is stable for launch when it received the letter. Icarus Mobile is a game which Netmarble provided consultation and advice during development, hence it is difficult for the team to accept Wemade’s request. Executives from both Netmarble and Wemade will have a meeting this week to discuss the situation before any decision is made.
