With promises of a big-screen movie and live-action web series, Hawken was set to become a huge IP alongside the Unreal Engine 3 mecha MMO running on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC. Kept up and running by developer Reloaded Games despite the demise of publisher Meteor Entertainment back in early 2014, the white flag has since been raised. Reloaded Games announced that the PC version will officially be removed on January 2, 2018, and all DLC and purchasable content will also be unavailable starting right now.
Hawken was revealed in 2011, and was perhaps the best looking mecha PVP MMO the gamers has ever seen at that time. Before shutting down, publisher Meteor Entertainment even obtained an investment of USD 18 million to transform Hawken into a global sensation like League of Legends. Hawken achieved just 86 concurrent players last month.
