[Game website] 2016 is looking to be the year of team-based shooters, as several aim for total domination in the genre. Battleborn, developed by Borderlands creator Gearbox Software, unleashed a new trailer recently at the annual PlayStation Experience, as seen below. Publisher 2K Games is launching Battleborn on 3 May after a delay, with PC, PlayStation 4, and Xbox One all included.
Blizzard’s Overwatch is launching Spring 2016, which puts the 2 games head to head against each other. Both requires a purchase (Buy-to-Play), and launching on all 3 major platforms, hence it would be interesting to see how players react. On the other side, there is the Free-to-Play crowd, consisting of Paladins (which I really enjoyed), Gigantic, and the looks-to-be-canceled Battlecry.
