As reported previously, the China server for Final Fantasy XIV yesterday celebrated its one-year anniversary with a live event in Shanghai. Organized by publisher Shanda Games, Naoki Yoshida from developer Square Enix was at the celebration event to talk more about the game’s future in China. Version 3.0 will be arriving this Autumn, and the localized name will be known as “苍穹之禁城”.
Naoki Yoshida revealed the gender ratio in the China server is 50-50. The art team at Square Enix has dispatched some staff to China as well to gather information for designing Chinese costumes. For the international server, new rank 5 purple items will be arriving in either 3.1 or 3.15, with a long story about them. Costumes from classic Final Fantasy characters are also being considered.
