Over at Game Developers Conference (GDC) 2015, Blizzard Entertainment revealed two new heroes and a new map for its upcoming team shooter, Overwatch. First off, the cowboy McCree enters the fray. Wielding his trusty revolver, McCree plays the role of an offensive damage dealer. He also uses the occasional flash bang grenades to blind enemies and get out of sticky situations.
Second, she is apparently “one of the world’s strongest women”. Enter Zarya, a celebrated athlete who never turns down duty for her country in time of war. Carrying the massive (and impressive) particle cannon, Zarya plays the role of a support tank (who packs a punch). She can summon a particle barrier around her or a team member which shields incoming attacks. Pretty awesome.
Finally, a new playable map known as Watchpoint: Gibraltar was introduced. Part of the payload mode, the attacking team’s objective is to move the payload to a delivery point, while the defenders must halt the attackers’ progress until time runs out. There is currently no news about a Closed Beta or launch date, but Overwatch is expected to launch simultaneously worldwide.
