After Epic Games’ showcase of Unreal Engine yesterday, Crytek has revealed its Games Developer Conference (GDC) 2015 product showcase trailer. While Crytek was plagued with negative press in 2014, the developer is now back on its feet, though perhaps still trailing Unreal Engine’s popularity with developers. That said, the highlight game for me would be Monster Hunter Online, though brief.
Other online games featured include Snail Games’ upcoming MOBA, King of Wushu; XLGAMES’ Civilization Online; and Tencent Games’ Legend of Yulong, which is apparently very popular in China. The second trailer takes a look at some of the features CryEngine has to offer to developers, and displays how the engine is leveling the playing field for developers of all sizes and budgets.
