NCsoft, currently embroiled in a massive “civil war” with its biggest shareholder, Nexon, today announced its financial report for the fourth quarter of 2014 and for the whole year of 2014 as well. Total sales for 2014 increased slightly by 10.8% for sales by region, while sales by games (overseas royalties not accounted) increased by a tiny 1.62% despite the introduction of WildStar.
What is impressive is NCsoft’s net income for the year of 2014. It actually increased by a massive 43% compared to 2013! A huge increase in royalties (Q to Q), perhaps from Guild Wars 2 in China (published by Kong Zhong), certainly helped NCsoft’s finances. Just a slight note, Tencent China’s third quarter revenue in 2014 is two times bigger than NCsoft’s revenue for the whole of 2014…
