NCsoft recently announced the acquisition of two domestic indie studios, NOVN and Dotomchi Games, for 800 million Korean Won (around 740,500 USD). These 2 indie studios focuses on mobile development, and have been around for some time despite not having any hit titles. NCsoft is apparently looking at a third indie studio, where a deal is imminent.
Back at G-Star 2014, NCsoft admitted the company was lagging behind in the mobile race, and unleashed several in-house mobile games during the show. They include Blade & Soul Mobile, Aion Legions, and also the mobile versions of Lineage Eternal, Project HON and Master x Master. It would probably be at least another year before NCsoft’s mobile plans bear fruit.
