[Game register] Smilegate is preparing for G-Star 2014 in Korea, but it also has interests on a global scale. Radiant Worlds, a Smilegate-backed developer located in United Kingdom, recently revealed its first game, SkySaga. From the visuals, it certainly bears similarities with Minecraft.
The official description reads “an original, endlessly evolving, multi-player, online, voxel-based, ‘sandbox’ PC game” and also “free-to-play with optional in-game purchases and is intended for players aged over 13”. Gathering, crafting and building seems to be a big part of the game.
The general MMO gamers should not be disappointed, as there will be combat as well. I am not really sure about PvE, but PvP is confirmed for the game. It was also mentioned that combat is optional, and players can progress even by just purely mining. Sounds sandbox enough to me!
Different from the voxel games available, there will apparently be classes to choose from. Currently, there are 7 of them: Explorer, Crafter, Trader, Miner, Gladiator, Farmer, Architect, and Adventurer.
