For those who did not know, World of Warcraft China is still using a Pay to Play business model, contrary to the popular Free to Play one. Publisher NetEase announced earlier today that the hourly fee will now be 30 Yuan for 2700 minutes and 15 Yuan for 1350 minutes of game time.
Effectively, each minute of game time has now increased by around 45%. With the change slated to take effect on 16th October, players are voicing their concerns and dissatisfaction, seeing how World of Warcraft is diminishing in terms of popularity. Will this fasten the game’s decline in China?
