Originally revealed at this year’s WWDC keynote to showcase the power of Apple’s new Metal API and Unreal Engine 4, the Zen Garden demo by Epic Games is now available for download on A7 or A8-equipped devices (currently iPad Air, iPad Mini Retina, iPhone 5S, iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus).
Apple’s new technology for iOS 8, Metal, enables developers to create very detailed scenes with very low CPU overhead. Developers can now easily throw thousands of individual objects into your world while maintaining a high framerate, with lesser battery usage compared to OpenGL ES.
