Delayed for several years, Korean developer WeMade Entertainment has finally announced the first Closed Beta for Icarus to begin on 2nd May. Crafted using CryEngine 3, Icarus is quite the beauty to the eyes, as seen in the trailer below.
The main draw will no doubt be the mounted aerial combat system, along with a mount taming feature. All these features were improvised during the development phase, which are aimed to give Icarus an identity of its own. Smart move.
There aren’t really any games which can boast awesome flight combat since Aion launched, so Icarus will no doubt be refreshing to most gamers. Mounted aerial combat is rather new as well, and I can’t really think of any other games in recent years with this feature.
Lasting just 4 days, the first Closed Beta will see a level cap of 25, with all 5 classes seen below available. WeMade Entertainment has shifted most of its resources to develop mobile games, hence Icarus might be the last big-budget MMORPG from the developer for the foreseeable future.
