In a shock announcement yesterday, Nexon confirmed that Dragon Nest Korea’s publishing rights will be handed over to Actoz Soft in a contract lasting 3 years. All current user data will be moved over as well starting from now till 27th November. The main reason is due to the original contract between Nexon and developer Eyedentity Games reaching its final weeks.
Of course, Nexon Korea tried to extend the contract, but to no avail as Eyedentity Games and Actoz Soft are both owned by China MMORPG giant, Shanda Games. Nexon will be giving out virtual items worth over USD 100,000 to players as a gesture of apology. Actoz Soft is best know in the West as the developer of LaTale and Legend of Mir series.
