It started just as a rumor a couple of days ago, with the China gaming community pointing out that the Chinese domain for Guild Wars 2 was registered. Today, it was confirmed that the hit MMORPG will be heading to the world’s largest online gaming nation (and 1 very excited for the game), with publisher Kongzhong clinching the deal. There is no scheduled release date or business model announced as of now.
Kongzhong is well-known in China for Wargaming.net’s games such as World of Tanks and the upcoming World of Warplanes and World of Warships. Kongzhong also recently acquired the rights to 2 Western MMO, 1 a browser-shooter call Offensive Combat developed by former Callof Duty devs and the much anticipated Unreal Engine 3 mech MMO, Hawken.
