The Korea gamers were the first bunch to get angry, with their demand for refunds denied by Blizzard until the government decided to raid Blizzard’s offices in Korea. Of course, Blizzard found out the Korean government is not really an entity they can fool with their sub-par antics used in developing Diablo III, and eventually came up with a refund plan. But that is not the end. As early as in June, PC cafes (or PC bangs) in Korea were threatening to launch a class action suit against the gaming behemoth. And it is happening next week.
According to the latest report, on behalf of the PC bangs, the Korean Internet PC Culture Association (IPCA) will be filing the law suit. The claims are mostly how much income these establishments lost due to Diablo III’s servers being inaccessible for long periods of time after launch. Of course, this led to pissed customers who will rather walk out. This and the need to pay Blizzard royalties led to “huge losses”, amounting up to 1822 hours (all PC bangs installed with Diablo III) and an estimated 55 billion KRW (USD 48 million) lost.
