As reported back in September 2010, the China publishing rights for XL Game’s ArcheAge was signed by gaming giant Tencent at a hefty price of USD40mil. Today, various foreign websites are reporting that the news post on on the ArcheAge official website about the deal was taken off silently. Speculations are flying around that the deal is now off the books, with XL Game unlikely to get such a high price if the publisher is changed.
Recently changed from using CryEngine 2 to CryEngine 3, ArcheAge is scheduled for Closed Beta 3 soon, with only a measly 200 slots allocated. The publishing rights for Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau areas remain unchanged.
