I actually just got back from the hospital, having been on the drip overnight for some freak fever which wouldn’t go away… But since I am waiting for the medicine’s drowsiness to take effect, I thought I would post this first. QQ Journey to the West is from China’s Tencent Games, also the biggest online company in the country. The game went into Public Beta recently, and I decided to give it a quick spin. By the way, it seems like Tencent has big overseas expansion plans for 2011, so…. 🙂
There are 5 classes as you can see from the video above, mainly the healer, assassin, mage, warrior and archer. They do have fancy names, but simplifying them will be much clearer. As I have just started playing yesterday before hospitalized, I did not get to touch on features like the 72 transformations, instances and the much advertised pet system… where players can get their own personal loli (see below)…
The 2 videos here are from the introduction storyline, which happened 500 years before the actual game starts. Here, players are given a level 60 character and tasked to save the Monkey King, who is trapped after wreaking havoc in the Celestial Court. However, players will eventually be overcome by Buddha himself and banished to Earth. 500 years later, after several reincarnations, players are now to aid Monkey King and his journey to the west…
