MapleStory expands again after Big Bang

With additional information and images from Spadow – Nexon Corp, after announcing the winter update for Dungeon Fighter Online (KR), has revealed its own winter update content for MapleStory. The update will be simply known as “Chaos”. The update will also be divided into 3 parts, with the dates scheduled on 16th Dec, 30th Dec and 13th Jan. So what new content will there be?

16th December 2010 – Return of the Hero!

Unfortunately, there will be no new classes or jobs. The update will see a massive tweak for Aran, Evan and Dual Blade to balance them out and also adding new skills for them. All other classes will also see a minor enhancement in damage output, including the Beginner. According to reports, the Magician classes will see more significant increment.

30th December 2010 – Age of Technology

Gathering and life skills are added to MapleStory! Players will now be able to create their own potions through Alchemy and even create their own unique equipments through the crafting system. Better keep those ores and etc stuff, they might come in handy! The 5 gathering skills available for players to learn are Gather Herbs, Gather Minerals, Alchemy (creating potions), Equipment Crafting and Accessory Crafting. Plaers over level 30 can access these skills.

Also, exclusive pets, such as Android, can be crafted too! I am not really sure if there will be more~ Do be informed that crafting will be a very important part of MapleStory after this patch hits! There are even exclusive crafted rings which will give special effects etc~

13th January 2011 – Chaos!

Player Vs Player (PvP) will be added! Player will be access the new Battle Arena through a portal in towns. There will be various types of PvP modes, including Survivor mode (free-for-all), Team Match (Teams Vs Team) and more. Successful kills, length of survival in the PvP room and even their PvP skills will be analyzed, allowing players gain Fighting Points (FP), which can be used to trade for exclusive items!

To add on, new high level content aimed at players above 160 will be added, including the strongest boss monster ever, roughly translated as the “Queen”. A new set of high-level armors and weapons will also be included (level 140).
