As I posted previously, classic console game, Langrisser, is getting an online makeover in the form of Langrisser Schwarz. The game will be developed by ambitious Taiwanese MMO developer and publisher, Gamania. As many readers are “pestering” me for more information (through emails and MSN), here is it! The original music producer and game producer for Langrisser will be onboard for this title when both made an appearance at Tokyo Game Show 2010.
Other than keeping the classic scenarios found in the original series, there will be more options and commands for players to control their troops. In Langrisser Schawarz, players can pledge their allegiance to either of the 3 nations available and there will be around 18 classes available initially. According to the TGS 2010 interview, there are a total of 70 classes planned, with some classes being “hidden” classes. Sounds awesome! In case you do not know, this game will be something similar to Atlantica Online. The “almost” similar battle system will apply here, with players controlling up to 8units for each battle. A large variety will be available, including archers, mages, knights etc. Just for the equipments for the units, there will be around 1800 to choose from!
The game is slated for its first Closed Beta in Japan during 2011’s summer, followed by Taiwan. Anyone hoping for a English release?
