After abruptly stopping the initial Open Beta phase back in February, Devil’s Third Online today resumed Open Beta under the guidance of Nexon Japan. The delay is apparently due to developer Valhalla Game Studios wanting to polish the game further. A third-person F2P shooter, Devil’s Third was apparently a sleeper hit for the Wii U. I wonder if it is wise to go up against Overwatch…
A little more info about Valhalla Game Studios, helmed by Tomonobu Itagaki, creator of the Dead or Alive series and also reviving the Ninja Gaiden franchise in 2004. There are now 3 offices, including Japan and South Korea, while the new head studio is located at Vancouver, Canada. The Russian version of Devil’s Third Online will launch soon, and perhaps an English version is in sight.
