I am typing this post with a heavy heart. The reason being I wasn’t able to secure or apply for a key to enter NetDragon’s new MMO third person shooter, Transformers Online. The first phase, Elite Closed Beta, is now commonly known through the Chinese gaming industry. But I shall call it Limited Closed Beta instead since it is my blog 😀 With the beta phase’s start, the new trailer which was teased at ChinaJoy 2011 was released into the wild as well.
Transformers Online is following what most online shooters are doing now, with both PvE and PvP maps for players to enjoy. But do note that the game is a third person shooter, still a rarity in my opinion in the global online gaming market.
Unfortunately, there seems to be little chance Transformers Online will be ported to the English market, as Jagex will be developing Transformers Universe (link) instead, a browser MMO. If you are asking why can’t 2 Transformers MMO survive in the same market, you will have to ask Hasbro yourself… More information can be found in my previous posts (link).
