I only came across this game in various Korean forums and just some of the gaming websites, and given that my Korean ain’t exactly that polished, I am trying my best to make out what MMO this is. Introducing Unveiled: The Supernatural, the maiden title for Maverick Studios in development since 2009. Maverick Studios is said to consist of several veterans of the industry with over 11 years of experience. To be honest, I don’t even know if the developer is truly Korean after watching the trailer below.
To me, this might look like an ideal competitor for CCP’s World of Darkness, which was delayed after a sizable amount of staff was retrenched earlier. Of perhaps even Funcom’s upcoming The Secret World. The trailer above shows off the Hunter killing a Witch, but met his end at the hands of a Vampire in a somewhat brief PvP demo. Yes, Hunter, Witch and Vampire are 3 of the 4 races found in the game, with the final one being the Werewolf. Before I forget, of course there will be PvE 🙂
Each race (there is no “class”) will be weak against another, hence no single race is superior in the game. If there are no classes, how will players distinguish themselves other than changing their cosmetic looks? Enter the Mastery system, where players will need to add points into various skill trees and create their own unique characters. There are various skill trees available to each race, including weapons, summoning spells, magic and more.
Unveiled: The Supernatural currently is bracing for the official website to be launched. What do you think of this game, touching entirely on the supernatural and demons, hell gates etc? It really reminds me of Vampire: The Masquerade which I played years back. Well, that’s all the news I can get now, stay tuned for more in the near future!
