I am sure most veteran gamers would have known about or even played this game. Rising Force Online, also known as RF Online (link), was a Pay to Play title in the English market before changing to a Free to Play one. I actually paid for it for 4 months back in the days. The Korean version is going on step further, with the game currently down for 3 days for its conversion into an online shooter. Note that this is an update, all data for the Korean server will remain.
Yes, you read it right. After being in service for 8 years, the game will now reborn as a MMOPS (massively multi-player person shooter) with 3 modes available, being first person, second person and third person mode. 2nd person view here is not from the enemy’s point of view, but more of “over the shoulder” view, something like Gears of War. You can see the icons in the image below. Combat will become a non-target one as well, making RF Online a rare open world sci-fi online shooter game.
