Did you know that Counter-Strike started off as a mod by a couple of college kids? Most of the folks I asked so far thought that the game was a creation of Valve, which is apparently very wrong. Valve did developed Half-Life, but Counter-Strike was actually a player-made mode which exploded into fame.
Now, one half of the original mod’s creators, Minh “Gooseman” Le, is back with a new online shooter, Tactical Intervention. GameSpot has quite an in-depth interview with him in the video below.
The game is not looking much graphics wise,, but it still oozes a classic feel of the original Counter-Strike with some updated twists. As the press release mentioned, players will get behind the driver’s seat, shoot hanging out of vehicle passenger windows, call in attack dogs, and even make use of tactical rappel ropes to gain the upper hand on the opposing force.
Players will also have to be conscious of civilians who can be taken as hostages and used as human shields. Sound convinced yet?
