Announced a couple of months ago, gamers were quite surprised that the owner of Riot Games (League of Legends) is developing its own MOBA title. I am talking about Tencent Games of course, with its upcoming Chinese MOBA loosely translated as Battle of the Gods.
A new report surfaced today in the media, and confirmed that the game will be focused on only the 10 vs 10 mode, with all items and map size optimized for this number of players, not just a direct port from any 5 vs 5 maps. All characters are gigantic gods, and the map is actually a miniature world.
1 interesting feature will be “God Gear”. There are 2 bosses on the map, 1 dropping a physical damage gear while the other dropping a magical damage gear. These gears will scale up in damage with more kills and assists, and can be picked up by either team members when the carrier dies.
Another feature will see the game’s “Roshan” or “Baron” class boss providing the team which defeats him with buffs, while also spawning for the team during the next minion wave and attack the opposing team. This is somewhat similar to the feature found in Strife.
Finally, there will be healing structures in each team’s jungle and outer turrets to reduce the game time (estimated at 30 to 40 minutes). They can be destroyed, of course. More game features will be announced when the game is being presented later this year at Tencent Games Carnival 2013.
