Ever since Naoki Yoshida took over Final Fantasy XIV, I was impressed by how open he is chatting about the game and willingly share tons of in-development information with the community. Over at Tokyo Game Show 2013, game stats were made public in the “Eorzean Census”.
Majority of the stats are taken from 24th August to 20th September, which was the booming launch period for A Realm Reborn. The numbers are certainly impressive, and you can actually estimate how much revenue Square Enix roughly made by selling the initial game client.
For numbers on classes, the slides are divided into the 3 holy trinity. As expected for almost all online games, most players are siding towards the DPS classes/ jobs in A Realm Reborn.
For DPS (level 31-50), at the top is Dragoon (24%), followed by Black Mage and Bard (17%), Summoner and Monk (14%), Archer (4%), Lancer and Pugilist (3%), and Arcanist and Thaumaturge (2%).
For Tank (level 31-50), the most popular is Paladin (60%), followed by Warrior (28%), Gladiator (8%), and Marauder (4%). Hmn, I always thought Marauder is more of a DPS type of character… For Healer (level 31-50), at the top is White Mage (69%), followed by Scholar (19%) and Conjurer (12%).
Since most of the presentation slides do have English words in them, I guess not much explanation is needed from my side. I am seeing tons of my friends mysteriously falling sick over the past few weeks, only for them to showcase their character screenshots on Facebook… That says a lot 🙂
