Ragnarok 2, which is the 3D successor of the hugely popular MMORPG, Ragnarok Online, was deemed as a total failure when it was first launched in 2007. Several issues threatened to spoil the game, including hacks and bugs. Luckily, Gravity decided to re-develop the game in 2009 using an improved engine and polishing the title. After nearly a year, Ragnarok 2 is back and ready to fulfil its potential and step out of Ragnarok Online’s shadow.
The target date for the game’s first Closed Beta after re-development is set on 31st August. The game has also got a new tagline, Ragnarok 2: Legend of the Second. This is to reflect the re-development phase the game had gone through. All existing official Ragnarok 2 servers will be shut down on 2nd August. More information can be found here.
