The very first beta of Gravity’s revamped MMORPG, Ragnarok Online 2: Legend of the Second, will be starting on 31st August 2010 and more information on the game was just leaked out (sort of). While not all features are available in the first beta phase, it seems there is no huge protest over this version (so far) unlike during the game’s first attempt. So will the new Ragnarok Online 2, after its first disastrous outing, impress eager fans of the prequel? Here are some brief information for you to judge.
1. There will be 5 basic classes (all English names are not confirmed): Swordsman, Mage, Disciple, Thief and Archer. There will be 2 more advance classes for each basic class at level 20.
2. The content for the first beta is capped at 30, with only 2 male classes available: Swordsman and Thief (female gender is available for all classes). Well, some players are still in shock, but I guess it is just a beta limitation for now. The advanced classes are as below:
Swordsman —> Knight / Warrior
Magician —> Wizard / Elementalist
Disciple —> Priest / Combat Monk (or Monk)
Thief —> Rogue / Assassin
Archer —> Ranger / Hunter
3. As I mentioned previously, there will be 4 life professions for players to choose from: Doctor, Blacksmith, Cook and Tailor. As you can see below, players must “transform” into their profession before being able to craft anything. Not advisable to do so in PvE areas with mobs!
Anyway, here are samples of what a Tailor can do. For the design freaks!
4. Skills in Ragnarok 2 are learned via Talent Trees. As there are many Talent Trees and skills, with only 1 skill point every level, players have the hard work of choosing their specializing branch carefully.
5. The mount system will be available for all players upon reaching level 15. The PecoPeco mount below can be bought from a NPC, which increases movement speed by 20%.
Well, that’s all for some of the very first features of the game. Do stay tuned for more features (like the card system) as another beta phase kicks in.
