According to a Korean report, Perfect World’s MMORPG, Battle of the Immortals, was blocked by the Korean government after failing to get receive a rating. The reason? The “unlimited” usage of the the in-game macro function (or bot). Being published in Korea by Ndoors (recently bought over by Nexon), the Korean government was not impressed by the feature, which players can use 24/7 after purchasing the required items from the Cash Shop.
It also rejected to rate the game as players can “farm in-game currency and trade for cash” using this convenient function. A member of the committee said that while it is rare for MMOs with such a feature to be blocked, others had restrictions compared to Battle of the Immortals. A similar incident occurred in the past when Korean company, EyaSoft, tried to host Perfect World’s Kung Foo!. Battle of the Immortals is currently being revised and tweaked by Perfect World to match the Korean government’s requirements.
