Over at Tencent Games’ annual announcement event, China’s biggest online gaming company made the surprise announcement of teaming up with SNK Playmore to include characters from The King of Fighters in its self-developed online fighting game, King of Combat.
King of Combat (炫斗之王) is a Free-To-Play arcade fighter for the PC, and previously had been criticized for “copying” fighter games such as Street Fighter and The King of Fighters. The collaboration now will see familiar faces such as Kyo Kusanagi, Benimaru Nikaido and more as playable characters.
Tencent Games is also working to make sure King of Combat is ready to run on Windows 8 and the various tablets running the OS.
