AIKA Taiwan will be updating its server to Epic II: Karena in a few hours! Even if I had previewed the Karena patch previously, I thought I should add on to the vague information provided before as my Korean ain’t really that awesome. Karena is actually the 2nd floating island in Epic 2, the first being Leopold. First, no PK-ing will be allowed in the new Karena floating island, as this new update is purely new PvE content for the high level players. The storyline will also feature Karena as a neutral ground for all 5 nations. Players will all instead work together and protect villages in Karena from various monster rush.
With the Karena patch, the Pran communication system will now be upgraded as well. Each choices a player make while answering Prans will directly affect the closeness rating between the 2 and also affect the kind of items Prans will randomly give.
With the update, whatever equipment Prans wear will also give a boost to the players’ stats! And for the new level 75 sets found in this post, players are able to get them by completing daily quests, all the way from level 71 to level 75. Do note that the glove can be gotten and worn at level 71, helmet at 72, armor at 73, shoes at 74 and finally, the weapon at level 75. Too good to be true? There is a catch! This level 75 set will come with significantly lower stats compared with the unique set. Only when reinforced will it eventually be on par with the unique set. Take a look at the simple table below:
Under +0 status:
Level 75 equipments from NPC < Level 75 equipments from quest < Level 75 unique equipments
Under +11 status:
Level 75 equipments from NPC < Level 75 equipments from quest will be around the same as Level 75 unique equipments
Now to the new PvE content where all players from 5 nations will help out each other. There is a meter gauge on the island of Karena, and whenever players kill monsters found on the island, it will slowly fill up. When it is at 100%, the monster rush will attack after 20 seconds.
If players can defend successfully for 20minutes, every player will be given a buff for 3hours with increased EXP and drop rates. If unsuccessful, players will be given a debuff, which lowers EXP and drop rate for 3hours.
