Some weeks back, I posted that since the Sea Dragon update hit the Korean server in December 2010, no team has been able to complete it yet. The Japanese server was due to get the update next week (postponed as Nexon Japan suspended operations), with the first team to achieve the feat receiving more than USD 120,000. The China server has now gone one step further, with publisher Shanda Games offering diamond rings for each member of the team who slay the Sea Dragon first once the update goes live in 5days’ time. Services for the crafting the players’ name on the rings will also be provided if needed. It is touted that this mega giveaway will eclipse what the Japanese server is offering.
Not only that, for the servers and region which the team is in, every player will be rewarded with bonuses and items. The guild members of the team members will all get an exclusive in-game pair of crimson wings. It means that if 8 players from 8 different guilds team up to defeat the Sea Dragon first, all 8 guilds’ members will get it. There is currently a feature which players may use to test how their characters rate against the Sea Dragon simply by inputing the character’s name (see below). The higher the better of course, and an awesome feature! All the goodies listed above are just half of what to expect, with more prizes coming as the update comes near.
