It was recently discovered that developer XLGAMES applied a trademark for “ArcheAge War” in South Korea back in August this year. Yesterday, this same PC MMORPG ArcheAge War was approved by the local Game Rating and Administration Committee to be a “not for juveniles under the age of 18” product. Apparently, this is mainly due to “realistic depiction of battle expressions” and “existence of a trade system in the game.”
Update: ArcheAge War is confirmed!
According to various sources, ArcheAge War is not the previously mentioned ArcheAge 2. Instead, ArcheAge War is likely the mobile MMORPG crafted using Unreal Engine 4 which XLGAMES’ main investor, Kakao Games, talked about in investor meetings previously. The rating is only for the PC version most likely due to ArcheAge War being cross-platform on mobile and PC, with no formal age rating required for mobile games. Stay tuned for updates!
