Last week, Korean gaming giant Kakao announced that it has purchased 30.37% worth of stocks in developer Lionheart Studio. As a result, the ratio of shares in Lionheart held by Kakao Games and Kakao Games Europe increased to 54.95%, with control rights secured. The team received attention from the industry as ODIN: Valhalla Rising was the first mobile game to be awarded the Grand Prize at the annual Korean Game Awards.
According to reports, with Kakao Games as the publisher, the Korean server of ODIN: Valhalla Rising achieved around USD 350 million in sales during the first 180 days of launch. The current valuation of Lionheart Studio stands at around USD 3 billion. ODIN: Valhalla Rising is set to launch in the western market in the near future.
