A few days ago, Korean gaming powerhouse Smilegate held its regular developer conference, highlighting details for the upcoming massive summer update and beyond. We will not go into the specific details, just the ones we feel are more important in general. Read on for the juice!
• Following the resignation of Lost Ark’s former lead in May 2022 due to health reasons, the position is now shared between 3 senior leaders. They all have nearly a decade of experience working on Lost Ark, with previous experiences such as “planning the continents, dungeons, and islands,” and also combat system, character growth, and monster-related roles.
• A collaboration campaign with CD Projekt’s The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is also in the works. There are no details yet, except that the team aim to start this event this coming winter. This is currently announced for the Korean server only.
• In the spirit of summer, Lost Ark will also have a collaboration event with Ocean World, a water theme park. Mokoko will be the face of this campaign.
• The new class is currently known as Aeromancer, and will join the Korean server on July 6. As the name suggest, this class is closely related to the weather, and is said to be able to use the different weathers in Lost Ark to her advantage as well. Of course, the class name will most likely change for the English server under Amazon.
