Last week, Bandai Namco announced a new mobile RPG, Sword Art Online Variant Showdown, which is set to launch worldwide later this year. Yesterday, a new trailer was shown to reveal the game’s PVE action combat system. Players control 3 characters in a team, with just 1 being active. Through combination skills, all 3 characters may team-up to unleash a powerful ultimate attack which is limited to 1 time per fight. There are also 2-character combination skills as well.
Another important element of combat is the chain combo, which can be obtained via switching to another character at the right time to keep the chain going. Switching also allows players to avoid damage as they will be temporarily be invulnerable. According to details, characters belong to either of these 3 classes: Attacker, Defender, and Supporter. Of these, characters may further belong to either of these 3 skills type: Attack, Recovery, and Support. Stay tuned for more info!
