Back in November 2020, Tencent Games teased several spinoff projects for Arena of Valor, also known as Honor of Kings (王者荣耀) in China. Apparently, none of those 2 were the rumored MMORPG according to Tencent, as Honor of Kings: World (王者荣耀: 世界) was officially announced a few days ago. While the platforms are currently unknown, mobile and PC are definitely included. The teaser site for Honor of Kings: World did not mention Timi Studio, the subsidiary of Tencent which created Honor of Kings (王者荣耀).
According to official details, Tencent is now hiring from 4 major cities to build this project into reality: Chengdu (27), Shanghai (33), Hangzhou (21), and Tokyo (11). While the developer note stated that they wanted eastern flair in Honor of Kings: World, it does not mean just from Chinese culture, but also from Japan as well! From the job postings, it was revealed that Honor of Kings: World will be developed using Unreal Engine. It was also confirmed that some subtle easter eggs have been put into the original Honor of Kings (王者荣耀)! Stay tuned for updates.
