Korean developer Hound13, known for its first mobile action RPG titled Hundred Soul, yesterday announced it has received a major investment of more than USD 17.5 million from Southeast Asia games company, Garena. Other than publishing League of Legends in the SEA region, Garena is also known as a global developer/ publisher through its successful battle royale, Free Fire.
Hound13 is still considered a startup since it has only 1 game launched, and it was founded by core members who worked on Dragon Nest. The investment will allow Hound13 to focus development on Project D (cross-platform PC and mobile Unreal Engine title with cute character concept) and Project M (story-based action RPG for PC powered by Unreal Engine 4 set in a dark fantasy world). It was not mentioned if Garena will obtain the publishing rights to these games.
